Mechanical pump stuck

For some reason, the motor is overloaded or even can't turn. Usually, this phenomenon is called "stuck" vacuum pump. The reason of stuck is that the spring is damaged and the force of the rotary blade is not uniform; the assembly is improper, so that a part of the force is exerted; the filter of the intake is lost or damaged, which causes external dirt, metal chips and glass. Glass chips fall into the pump chamber. In addition, the gap between the end face of the pump rotor and the end cover is too small. Friction heating makes the rotor elongate or overheated and tighten, and the hardness of the rotor is too big. It grinds each other with burrs, resulting in deep scratches on the end face, and finally sintering jams. When the shaft and sleeve cooperate too tightly, and the lubricating oil circuit is not smooth, it will also stick to each other and grind the pump for a long time, causing rust in the pump chamber; when the pump runs in a humid environment or pumps out damp gas, the pump oil becomes emulsion or scaling of the pump oil or even crusts the viscosity of the pump oil is too high (winter); when the rotor starts, it will crack; Some pumps have semi-circular grooves in the air passages of high and low vacuum chambers. The rubber plates pressed on them are too tight, blocking the middle air passage, etc., which can easily jam the pumps. This kind of fault is often very dangerous, because in the moment of stuck, because the rotor makes the motor overloaded or immovable, it is easy to burn down the motor. Even if the motor is not burned, if it is not stopped early for repair, it will ruin the pump chamber, break the rotary blade, twist the rotor, burn the end face and so on. The consequences are always very bad.

Stuck always occurs between the rotor, the rotor and the end or the middle partition or between the rotor and the pump chamber, and these parts are the key parts to determine the ultimate pressure of a vacuum pump. Therefore, in case of stuck, it is necessary to stop the pump urgently, troubleshoot, repair properly, and never try again or even do brutally, otherwise it is very easy. The whole pump is scrapped and can not be repaired. Similar examples have been mentioned before.

Some pumps are more easily repaired. For example, a rotary vane pump manufactured in Shanghai or Changde, the front and rear gas passage is to mill half of the circular groove on the top of the middle baffle, with rubber pad on it, which is tightened by the oil tank. When the rubber plate is too thick, the oil tank is too tight or the rubber is foamed for a long time, the semi-circular groove of the air passage is blocked, the pump will not move or become stuck for a while. At this time of death, just take the pump apart, dig out the rubber padded by the airway part, and reassemble it.

For example, when the exhaust valve is too tight to jump, a 400 L/min sliding valve pump will become stuck. At this time, just open the oil window, loosen the nut of the pressure exhaust valve a little, and adjust it to return to normal.
